The Breaks Interstate Park is known as a hidden treasure for this part of the country.

It is called the Grand Canyon of the South. Other points of interest at the Park include:

You will need a WV Hatfield and McCoy Trail riding permit
if you plan on riding the ATV trails in WV and you will need

a WV fishing license if you plan on fishing.)

Located on the Guyandotte River in Justice, WV just past Iaeger and

Hanover, WV It is 1 hour 20 min. drive from Grundy, VA and so worth the drive!

 

 

 

You can go swimming, fishing, camping, hiking, launch your

own boat, jet ski, kayak, canoe, or raft, and so much more!

 

R.D. Bailey Lake is nestled within the southwestern Appalachian Mountains offering endless opportunities for year-round boating & fishing, plenty

of camping / picnic facilities and a class "A" visitor center.

 

The dam is on the Guyandotte River near the

southern West Virginia town of Justice, WV.

 

From Justice, which is in Mingo County, take US Route 52 south. On US Route 52 south,

after leaving Mingo County and crossing the Guyandotte River into Wyoming County,

approximately one-tenth of a mile on the left is the turn off to the Visitor Center access road.

At R.D. Bailey Lake, you and your family can enjoy lots of activities such as:

  • Boating (You will need to bring your boat. There are no boat rentals.)
